I Don't Think This Counts...

I hate blogs posts that simply put up links to other sites, but there was a cool little interview over at Newsarama with current Fantastic Four writer Johnathan Hickman about the future of the FF as it relates to Marvel's new "Heroic Age." Apparently, issue number 579 will be a "done-in-one" story that lets new readers come onboard ans get right into the story. It appears the issue will also feature a sweet Reed Richards spotlight cover by Alan Davis.

I think the best thing about this article is that Hickman states that his FF run is really telling a 30 issue story, broken up into arcs. It will be gratifying to see that come to fruition. Go here for the article.

  1. Cool, some new content! I kind of thought you had forgotten about this blog, Kello! Hmm, maybe I should get back into the FF at issue #579... I think I'm finally over the bad taste Mark Millar's run left me with...

So I've got to ask, how far along in your pile of FF comics have you gotten?

  2. I really think it's time for you to come back to the FF! All the Millar stuff has been explained away now and the series is moving forward.

I wish I had more time for this blog, I really do. It has given me more of an appreciation for this team. Now when I see previews (like Doom War and Fall of the Hulks) that show the FF, I get really excited, which is something that wouldn't have happened before. It's definitely one of my peak times of interest in this series.

As far as the box goes, I think I'm only about 4 issues ahead of where I left off reviewing. I had to stop reading ahead because all the stuff was getting jumbled up between the blog and the box and my brain. I seriously wanted to keep going and going, because I'm loving all the John Byrne stuff.

This blog is going to become my free time priority. I think I'm going to try and get one post every weekend....doesn't sound like a lot, but you out of everyone knows it takes forever to write a detailed synopsis.

Wow, that was a lot. I think I'm just glad someone else out there looks at these posts, too.

  3. P.S.- did you read my "Staying Current" post as well? I kind of slipped it in there the other night.

  4. Ha, you know a writer's run was bad when the very next writer has to explain away everything that was done!

Wow, so you still must have a ton of FF stuff to read through. I know the feeling. With all of the new stuff I have, it's sometimes tough to find the time to sit back and relax with a back issue of something.

I'd be more then happy reading one new FF post a week from you Kello. I've got to say, your enthusiasm for Marvel's First Family is definitely catching!

No, I didn't even realize there was a new post besides this one until you mentioned it. After giving it a read, I've got to say, I really like that feature. It'll give me an in with the FF until I'm ready to jump back in.
